Whether it’s shock value or highly polarizing, controversy and drama is pretty valuable in Hollywood. Nowadays, we’re seeing a rise in controversy in young Hollywood roles. Characters that are supposed to be teenagers are getting into really sketchy situations, or being played by actors that fans do not agree with. Sometimes, it’s good for a show to make casting decisions that are not popular with viewers. And edgy teens can find themselves in dark situations in real life, what more on TV. But these could be detrimental to an actor’s health and career, especially if taken too far.
